Hi! I have applied to Florida Southern College, Eckerd College, the University of North Florida, the University of Florida, and the University of Tampa. So far, I have been accepted into Florida Southern and Eckerd, and I am waiting to hear back from the rest. I have also received scholarships from both Florida Southern and Eckerd. Right now, I really like Florida Southern. It seems like a respectable school that really focuses on education. I am not interested in going to a big party school. I was wondering which school would be the best for a marine biology student, though. Could anyone give me more information on the marine biology programs at these schools? If you have an insight into the student life, that would be appreciated, too. I have applied to Coastal Carolina University and the University of Wilmington, so I would appreciate any information on the marine biology programs there also.
I don’t know if you’ve already considered this, but New College of Florida has an excellent marine biology program. They’re located in Sarasota, with a student population of less than 1,000, and don’t use grades (evaluations, rather). They’re still accepting applications, and they’re a public school, so if you’re a Florida resident it will be affordable especially with scholarships. Students there are very socially liberal and intellectually curious.
Where did you decide to attend?
