Marine conservation

Excellent interest! I work/study in a field that is closely linked to marine conservation. There are two routes one can take for conservation.

(1) Policy - A student taking this route would usually major in public policy, though related fields are not uncommon. You’d study economics, environmental and marine law, energy issues, fisheries management, sustainability, etc.

(2) Science - A student taking this route usually majors in biology, chemistry, geology, or environmental science. You’d study aquatic chemistry, geomorphology and beach erosion, invertebrate and vertebrate zoology, atmospheric science, etc.

Which route sounds more appealing to you? Few schools are strong in both tracks.

It would also help to know your stats (grades, test scores, etc.) and any other preferences you have.
