<p>Anyone studying marine science? The program appears awesome, but I would love to hear about it from people in it. Does spending a semester at the research facility or at sea make your Stanford life harder or less comfortable when you return?</p>

<p>Also, what is the ecology (the bio major that concentrates on ecology) like? Are there a lot of people in that concentration? Is there a special, perhaps greener, dorm or special interest house they live in? (A lot of colleges have these houses, but I don't see one listed at Stanford.)</p>

<p>I don't know anything about the marine bio or ecology programs. Someone in my dorm spent a quarter at sea and enjoyed it seems as if it's no different than studying abroad in terms of any possible inconvenience. I don't know of any special interest house of that sort, pretty sure it doesn't exist. I wouldn't be at all surprised if there were a club related to ecological issues, etc., and if there isn't you could also be the one to start one!</p>
