Your gpa is low. In addition, Marist recalculates GPA. In other words–they toss out your phys.ed, music, art, electives and concentrate more on the GPA of your major classes like
English, History, Science (Bio, Chem., Physics), Math, and Foreign Language.

The rigor of your curriculum is also taken into consideration. Based on your senior year schedule, your rigor doesn’t appear to be rigorous.

I don’t believe in chancing students.

Directly from their website:

“A student interested in applying to Marist College should rank in the top half of their graduating class and hold a recalculated average between 3.2-3.7 or better. The quality and difficulty level of each class is taken into account as well. Leadership qualities and high school activities are also important.”

In short, your GPA and rigor may be a problem.

Just for your info:
NSHSS is meaningless. Listing a specific academic award or school award will have more merit than making note of NSHSS.

Just thought I’d comment my son was just admitted ED to Marist class of 2015 with similar stats as cucclater -
SAT math - 660, CR - 540
GPA - 3.03
BUT - Marist was clearly his first choice for over a year, we visited multiple times, and met with 3 different admissions counselors. He remained in email contact with them on his own and attended an open house for computer science majors. After that visit he was in email contact with the head of admissions regarding his pending application.
So…never say never :)
