OMG! I got an email that said Congrats again check Marist 360, I check it and at the top it sayd Congratulations you’re in! Then says deposit at the top. I was deferred but had an interview on the phone and planning on visiting with the admissions committee hmm im confused!!! I emailed my rep!!
UPDATE- IM IN!!! CLASS OF 2023 <3
Has anyone approached admissions about increasing the Merit Scholaship award? My Daughter was offered $7500, but with Marist taking another price increase they are at least 10K more expensive than all of her other choices. UMASS Amherst, Siena, Minnesota all offered significantly more and were starting at a lower cost to begin with…
We liked Marist very much, but not 15k to 20k more.
What is the sticker price these days?
NYAPDAD if your daughter is interested in minoring in music or theater, she can audition for a $2K per year scholarship for either minor. My daughter is a freshman at Marist and is so happy there.
Can someone chance me?

Got deferred, just wondering what my chances are RD. I applied to the Business Program.
Did everyone get the email about “Marist Freshman Year Abroad Programs and Grant”?
@gsbc12 My daughter applied to the Florence program at the time of her application and was accepted. It came with an additional grant.
@gsbc12 my son also got the email about the freshman year abroad and grant.
I had to laugh when my D received her financial award letter from Marist. While I am used to seeing loans counted as part of the award, I have never seen the meal plan listed as “out-of-pocket” expense not included in the COA. They did include an optional lunch plan in the COA ($1200/year), but not the $4800 regular meal plan. It’s not a big deal, I was already expecting COA pretty much at what it will actually cost, but holy cow, I had to admire the outright nerve to not include true board cost in the COA. Between D17 and D19, and acceptances to 13 different schools, this was the first time I’ve ever seen something like this!
@klinska Thanks for posting. It made me take another look at DS award to make sure. It says “room and board” was included in the billable charges which I thought included meal plan? Nothing mentioned about meal plan as an out of pocket or lunch plan. The other stuff estimated and not included was books, supplies, travel and personal expenses.
Total room and board for us is $15,920.
@cakeisgreat, hmmm. I wonder if this has to do with FFE. I’ll have to take a closer look when I get home.
Us too…I’m confused about the additional $4800 meal plan can you clarify where you see that @Klinska?
@cakeisgreat & @trendA – my bad, the weirdness of my D’s financial award letter is indeed tied to her acceptance to the FFE program. I guess that’s why they give an additional $5000 grant with the acceptance–it covers the “optional” meal plan.
Bostonmama - my son seems to be applying to a lot of similar schools as your son did last year. Would you mind letting me know where he chose and how the experience is going? Thanks - mbhcpa@gmail.com
