What have you heard about MArist premed? Or any other Liberal Arts college pre-med programs (preferrably on the east coast)? Are they worth it over large big name schools like Upenn or Duke?

Pre-med programs are really just a list of regularly-offered classes that are offered at ALL schools…General Chem I & II, General Bio I & II, Organic Chem I & II, Physics, and Cal I & Cal II. …about 8-10 classes.

A student picks a major (in WHATEVER he wants) and includes those above listed courses.

There is nothing really unique that each school offers . Either the school is strong in hard sciences or they’re not. Many schools have pre-med advising, which also helps.

So, really, any school that is strong in the hard sciences can prepare you for med school. You need a high GPA and a high MCAT score.

Don’t go into much debt for undergrad since you may need to borrow big bucks for med school.
