Will these guys be playing against Penn State? Is this game nationally televised?

the game is nationally televised but idk if ingram’s playing. i think he’s injured or something.

nevermind that I just checked and apparently ingram will play. dareus will not due to a two game suspension.

I’m sure it is just a simple misunderstanding.

^^^

LOL…these coaches need to put ankle bracelets on players…or maybe on the scouts!

Anyway…these players need to get it thru their heads that there can be no outside freebies while in college.

Alabama has appealed Dareus’ suspension and there is hope that it may be reduced.

maybe if the penalty from the college was serious - like you will be tossed off the team, then players wouldn’t be so anxious to take the freebies.

^^^
Maybe from the NCAA, but the colleges are part of the problem. They are not going to voluntarily throw any of their starters off the team unless forced by the NCAA. IMHO if it wasn’t for public opinion the NCAA wouldn’t care what these student athletes did including go to class, graduate or commit crimes. It’s all about the money. Please don’t get me started. I just hope Bama has a great season.

^
This. College football is a massive industry, and no involved parties are truly blame-free in situations like this.

Alabama won’t appeal defensive end Marcell Dareus’ two-game suspension.

"They are not going to voluntarily throw any of their starters off the team unless forced by the NCAA. "

Have you ever heard of players being dismissed for “violation of team rules” because it happened last year with Robby Green who would have been the starting cornerback for the Tide. The NCAA had nothing to do with this dismissal.

ummm sorry pramirez but Robby Green’s situation has everything to do with the NCAA.

He is still on the team, but he’s suspended for the year because he failed an NCAA administered drug test (marijuana) that was given to players at the National Championship game. Alabama’s punishment for failing drug tests certainly isn’t as severe as the NCAA’s punishment.

Robby Green is practicing with the team and will play next season if he keeps his nose (and pee) clean.

I remember when Joe Namath was benched for the Orange Bowl because of breaking a team rule. I’m guessing it was a curfew violation and neither the first nor the last time.
