The UCD admission review criteria gives points for “marked academic improvement” between the 9th and 11th grade. My gpa steadily improved from a 3.2 in the first semester of the 9th grade to a 4.0 in the second semester 11th grade. Does my improved gpa meet that criteria?

Does anyone know how UCD determines this?

When I spoke to UCD admissions in the past, the adcom said the "marked academic improvement" section only applied to substantial situations where there is a huge jump in gpa. From your sophomore year to your junior year, your GPA change doesn't seem like a "substantial" increase since it was gradual since freshman year. I thought I had it myself but I got shut down when I talked to the adcoms =P.
