<p>I am really torn between majoring in Marketing or Communications. This is mostly because I am not sure whether I want to go into PR or Marketing. Which field has more job oppurtunities and higher pay? Also, if I choose to go into marketing could a Communications major be useful to me?</p>
<p>When I was at my state university, a Marketing major was part of the Business school and a Communications major was a separate school/department altogether. Chances are this will be the case for you too. This means a drastic difference in the types of classes you will need to take. Do you know where you will be going to school yet? Even if you don’t, look up the requirements at a school you might be applying to. At my son’s university you can’t do one or the other as a minor. You would have to do a double major.</p>
