Is it possible to major in marketing/advertising without being in ross?

i don’t think you can get that exact major without concentrating in it at ross.

You don’t “major” in marketing in Ross (advertising does not exist). You “concentrate”. All that means is you take 3 or more marketing classes. That’s hardly a major. The major is business administration. However, you can take up to 20 credits of marketing classes if you’re not in Ross (far more than the “concentration” requirement).

what marketing classes are there for LSA students?

You can take any business, including marketing, classes you like. However, it’s tough to get into the core classes when the Ross kids are slotted to take them in a given semester. It’s easier to take their classes when most Ross kids aren’t taking them (i.e. don’t take Acc 271 in the fall, take it in the winter. Don’t take MKT 300 in the fall, take it in the winter).

You could also do a communications major through the school of information, which is the closest you can get to doing marketing/advertising without being in Ross
