"No more than two courses that are used to satisfy the requirements of any major, minor, or other certificate program can count toward the Markets & Management Studies certificate"

when it says that does it mean you cant use more than 2 for ne specific one. Or am i allowed to use 2 towards an econ major and 2 towards a poli-sci minor?

the former, i think

Honestly, I don't think you're allowed to do either.
I mean, you definitely can't use more than two courses counting for MMS to count for any other degree or minor or anything, but in this scenario, more than half of your MMS certificate (something that will logically leave only the capstone that is coded as MMS and probably both cores since those are largely in the Soc dept) will be used to fulfill other courses of study.

I mean - MMS has some cool courses, Poli Sci is an easy minor to fulfill and has some cool courses, and there are some fun Econ electives. I'm really familiar with these departments. Explore them a bit, you won't regret it.

kinda changing the subject but you said there are some fun econ electives, which ones do you reccomend?

i'm waitlisted @ #3, #7, and #8 for MMS courses. what is the likelihood I"ll get into them this fall?

twinkletoes -- what are the sizes of the courses? also- a bit more importantly, which are the courses and who is teaching them? it's really hard to say what your chances are without knowing that, since those bits of info make all the difference.

anyway, you should be fine. i would be inclined to say the class that you're third on the waitlist for, you'll get in because people drop over the summer, people drop over add drop period, etc. if they're big classes (like lecture big) you might get into all three since a lot of profs let the first 10 kids in off the waitlist. if they're all seminars, you won't get into any unless people drop. if they're the 35ish person class, i'd be surprised if you don't get into the one where you're third on the waitlist, but it might not happen for the other two. basically - the beginning of august check aces to see if there's been any movement in the waitlist situation and then email your profs expressing your interest in the course and inquiring as to whether or not they expect to add seats to the class (sometimes they'd love to but they can't) and unless you get a definite no, go to class on the first day, talk to the prof. most mms profs are generous, but everyone wants to get into these classes and they're always full, so you just have to be assertive to get off any waitlist.

hellohi-- you generally can only enroll in econ electives after you've taken econ 55, but some that i liked/friends liked: The Art Market (143?), Urban Economics (145?), American International Economic Policy, The Uses of Economics, my friend took a Philosophy of Econ class that she liked but it has higher prereqs to get into, there's a bunch of Economic History classes... it just depends what you're interested in.... a lot of people like the Corporate Finance & Managerial accounting type courses which are definitely worthwhile, esp if you're interested in ibanking.
