Sooo. I actually have never been inside the Greek Theater even though I lived in Foothill my entire frosh year (sad I know) but my friend and i really wanna see Maroon 5 this Sunday.

But the best seats they have left are lawn for $40+$10 (convenience). Can you even see the stage from the lawn and how early should i show up at the tix office if the show starts at 6 and i want the best spots i can salvage? also, can i get good pics on my digital camera from the lawn? its a canon sd 1100 with 8.0 megapixels and 3X zoom. and how how about acoustics from that high up-if it sounds vague and far away, i could just listen to a cd rather than throw down $50...

whoa-i didnt even know guys like Maroon 5! so have you been for any concerts up there? how are the lawn seats? i saw a clip of arcade fire on youtube but i couldnt really tell where the lawn was

hey meow, that really hurts meow feelings meow.
only been there once and wasn’t at the lawn seats. i heard it’s pretty steep, but you can get a good/decent view if you get there early enough to take a spot at the bottom of the hill. dunno about sound and much else though. someone here probably has sat there, but they’re just not on.

Waiting -Difficult to take photos because bright stage lights and you’re far away.
May not allow cameras in, read the Greek rules.
If you have never been to a concert, it is about the energy of the crowd and the performer.
IMHO, not worth $50 for the tix you describe unless you are going with a group pf friends.
Standing with a bunch of strangers or obnoxious people is the worst.

Go to the Greek Theatre website and under Tickets and Info, click General Policies…

Sorry, bro thought so.
People record on their phones

The lawn is pretty steep. If you’re going to get lawn seats, I’d recommend getting there early to snag a spot right at the bottom where it’s fairly flat. Sucks that you have to deal with the lawn. I saw Arcade Fire on Sunday and it was all GA, and my friend and I got very lucky with finding just enough room in the first row of seating. I didn’t actually go up to the lawn, but the view was clear from just below the lawn, so I’d assume you’d have a good view.

If you’re a guy, they won’t bother checking you for anything. They just scan your ticket. If you’re a girl, I’d assume they check your purse, but I really doubt they are strict about the camera policy. Once you’re in there’s barely any security anyway.

Have fun though! It’s a nice place to see a concert.

When I went to see Vampire Weekend, I brought a tiny little purse with a camera, phone, and wallet. I saw their signs so I stuck my camera at the bottom underneath my wallet. All they did was clutch the sides of my purse, looked through the top, and said I was good to go.

yeah, i think ill be able to sneak my camera in-or at least imma try.

pyroza: how early do you mean by early? its starts at 6…so is 12 considered early or like 5:30 early? and did others bring a book to read in line? i still have reading to do this weekend and i cant fall behind but i dont wanna look like a total nark.

I don’t really know. I got there around 7:15 when the opener started at 7, which is why I got really lucky with seats. The lawn was still fairly empty, so a half hour before show time would probably adequate.

yeah except Maroon 5 is going be with one republic, so maybe try an hour/hour+.5 before? I mean you can go see what time people line up for Jack Johnson tomorrow.

Golly, imagine if Bruno Mars was also coming up

Omg I totally forgot about OneRepublic/Ry Cuming? but does the show including the opening acts still start at 6 though or is that only when M5 gets on?

I’m dying to go, but the tickets are 70 bucks for lawn now. Boooooooooooo Should’ve bought them at the beginning of the school year like I wanted…then again, i just found out that I have a research paper outline due next week and I haven’t even though of a topic. I found someone to go with at least, but gagaga so much $$$ (and on a Sunday too).

Oh and everything starts at 6. I’ve only been to one concert (and a lot of comedy shows) and it’s usually opening acts at 6 and then main person/band come on.
