Hi Marquette and Xavier are both top choices for me right now. I have not had a chance to visit either but hope to in the next month. I was wondering if anyone could tell me how they compare to one another? In addition how Milwaukee compares to Cincinnati? I really want to be a part of greek life and I know Marquette has that but I am not sure about Xavier? I am not from the Midwest so I am not fully aware of their reputations so any information would be great!

D LOVED Xavier… GORGEOUS CAMPUS AND WARMER clime. D accepted at both MU and XU… we haven’t been able to visit MU and the 14 hour drive or plane flight makes it hard. Depending on your major, you have to decide which program best suits you. BOTH schools are wonderful. IMHO…MU is a little more prestigious…not that you should be looking for prestige if you are seeking a Jesuit college.

Loyola13 - you stated that you “want to be a part of greek life and I know Marquette has that…”. Note that Marquette’s Greek life is very, very small and there’s no comparison to larger schools where Greek life is the center of many (most?) social activities. It’s there for students who want the experience, but you really should look into it further as it’s not what you typically see at other schools.

technowildcat- I am aware of that. The bigger schools I applied did not provide nearly the financial aid as Xavier and Marquette so I am trying to look more at the positives of these two schools, not the negatives since they are my choices. Thanks for your response though.

marybee333- thanks for your response! I am visiting in a couple weeks so I am excited to see Xavier, hope I love it as much as your daughter!
