I've been looking at colleges recently and I wanted to go to a school like ND or an Ivy or something like that. However this may be unrealistic and am now looking for a more practical school and Marquette is my favorite this far. However I know little about it. Is it know as a prestigious university? Good school, good social life, good opportunities? Any students have anything to comment about like at marquette..?

I’m not a student; however, it is my top choice right now. The campus and city are great. I have visited twice, and I am going again this weekend. As far as prestige, it is probably ranked below Madison, but definitely one of the better schools in Wisconsin. Do you know what you want to study?

Not quite sure, I’m interested in law, business, government, history, political science those sort of things. Is it known as a nationally prestigious university? I would like to go somewhere that can offer good opportunities after graduationl. I’m planning on visiting it in the next month or two.

I know they’re known for connecting their graduates with alumni. I live in Wisconsin, so I’m unaware if it’s considered prestigious outside of the local area. Also it kind of depends how you’re comparing prestige… Ivy Leagues vs Marquette is on a totally different chart.

Yeah I realize that, but I would be able to get internships and jobs out of college? I mean would marquette help me go where I want to go–hopefully at some firm of some sorts?

I’m not familiar with any department, aside from engineering. I know that engineering has various routes you can take as far as internships, co-ops, and master programs. You can probably find on their website where law students go. I know that the business school is very successful; however, I don’t have numbers or statistical evidence to give you.

@Qwertgfdsazxcv This is what would interest you at Marquette from the majors you mentioned <a href=“The Les Aspin Center for Government // Marquette University”>The Les Aspin Center for Government // Marquette University; Marquette Law school has a very good reputation.
