<p>That can be true…with good-sized merit a private can be cheaper than an OOS public. But, an OOS public can be similarly priced or even cheaper than an instate public with good merit as well. My kids’ state flagship gets many OOS top students because with merit, going OOS is cheaper than their own state schools. </p>
<p>If your child hadn’t had any need and only got merit, how much would have Marquette cost? Is the COA for Marquette about $50k per year?</p>
