We got the list down to about 20 possible schools, based on size, programs, distance from home, cost, stats, etc. Marshall is pretty high on the list for having the right programs at a reasonable cost. We're scheduling a college visit in the next month or two. Despite being a large school (and of course being known for "We are Marshall"), I've found very little info by students on the usual web sites. It isn't even listed in the college discussion boards on College Confidential!

I'll take any info on it, please! Should it stay on my D's list (she's currently interested in nursing, 3.5-3.6 GPA, M-V SATs about 1150 based on PSATs, very good activites and recs).

Just saw the movie and got a bit curious about the school. Princeton Review doesn't give much information, but it does say that admission is based on standardized test scores - Very Important - and secondary school record - Important - while extra curricular activities and recommendations are Not Considered.

After watching the movie (one of my top 10 all-time) I was ready to enroll!
I recently drove through WVA on my way up north, and I thought the state was beautiful. Marshall could very well be a hidden gem.

I'll post a trip report when we get back. We're going to visit Marshall at the end of February. I was trying to get her to move the visit a little later when the campus might be prettier (tricky Mom), but she's anxious to start seeing schools.
