Marshall

What is the difference, acceptance-rate-wise, of getting into Marshall versus the college of Arts and Sciences.... and if I apply to the college of Arts and Sciences how hard is it to transfer to Marshall??

In regard to the second part of your question:

It used to be very easy - you could just fill out a form during orientation. But I guess this year too many people tried to do that, so they made it a bit more difficult, but still relatively easy. You have to wait a semester (you can still enroll in up to 5 Marshall classes as a CLAS student), and fill out a form second semester. As long as your first semester GPA was a 3.0 or higher, then transferring isn't a problem. At least that's what they told me....

also answering the second part of your question...

i was accepted into the College of Arts and Sciences, but decided to switch my major to business... I didn't change my major at orientation, but i DID change it at Meet (or is it Explore?) USC, which is a program thats a little bit earlier- it wasn't a problem, i just filled out a form during orientation. but if you KNOW you want to do business, I would just go ahead and apply to the business school, I don't think there's that huge of a difference, although it IS a bit more difficult.

I applied the first week of classes in Fall 05. I applied undeclared. I had to fill out an application, state my grades for prerequisite classes and sumbit a resume with work experience, awards, EC stuff, etc. I don't think they make you do the resume thing anymore, but I'm pretty sure they ask for your grades in some prereq classes...that is, if you've been at the school long enough to take them or you've transferred.
