to those with firsthand knowledge of the school- how is it? I know everything about its ranking and stuff but like how are the classes, class sizes, profs, and that infamous curve? Also job placement? Any info's appreciated!

They modified the curve this year, or maybe even did away with it all together? Someone who actually knows what they're talking about could give you the specifics, but I know they definitely made a change to it.

I'm studying abroad this semester so I know the idea behind the new curve, but not actually how it's being implemented.

The old curve basically said that the class avg had to be 3.0 (B) and 3.3 (B+) for electives

Now, there is still a curve but the class average is set to the GPA average of the students enrolled into a particular class. So if everyone has a 4.0 in your class (unlikely, but for argument's sake) then the class average for final grades in an A (as opposed to being pushed down to a B w/ the previous curve)

What I don't know is:
How do they deal w/ freshmen who have no college GPA?
How do they calc. GPA? Just business courses?, Overall? Including transfer grades?
So if anyone can answer these, please do.

A lot of information on Marshall can be found if you search through the forum but I can't sleep so here goes:
For class sizes, check out USC Schedule of Classes: Select a Term
Profs...it depends but you'll figure out soon where the better one's are, you just won't always have a choice. There's just way too many business kids and the classes are always full. My experience has been a mixed bag, but the better profs are worth it.
Job placement: I really don't feel that the career center is the best resource. Considering how many students go to USC, there should be a lot more job listings. I think most of it comes with networking and attending recruiting events and there are more than enough opportunities to do that.

Feel free to message me with any more specific questions.
