MarteL is on eBay!

haHa...MarteL is being soLd on eBay! It's hilarious that the highest bid is already $75,000. I wonder if someone will really have to pay! That would be funny.

It's bizarre that Rice University hasn't taken action yet, nor has eBay.

I doubt the University would do anything since it's a Willy Week jack; as far as pranks being pulled goes, this one's pretty harmless.

I'm the current high bidder!

This is too funny. Hope ebay doesn't make the seller pay the comission-- its usually a percent of the selling price!!

I doubt the auction will make it to completion before getting pulled.

I do not think so; I have auctioned numerous items on eBay and have only had to pay the listing fee plus advertising options, such as using templates, multiple listing meta-tags, 9+ pictures, and so forth.

Actually, eBay charges what is called a FVF, or Final Value Fee, which, like our income tax system, is a progressive scale percentage fee on the final value of the item. For a $100,000.00 item, it usually falls around $6,000.00. I don't believe Weiss can afford that, but I could be wrong :-)

I did not know that; I have auctioned items at 1,000$+ and have never been charged an FVF; perhaps it just applies to items that sell for a significant sum...?

Regardless, whoever foots the bill is going to real upset.

Go take a look at your Seller's Account invoice or history. They appear without you knowing about it.
