Hey, I was placed in markley and i was wondering if anyone can tell me anything about it, im in the dark (be honest, badmouth it if you feel negatively about parts).

Mainly i was wondering do i need to take a shuttle to get to the campus center, and how does it compare to other primarily freshman dorms. (Im in LSA by the way) Thanks!

Markley’s great. It’s mostly freshmen; you’re going to meet a lot of people. You don’t need a bus from Markley to get to classes. It’s about a 10-20 minute walk depending on which building you’re trying to get to. It’s probably the best dorm you can have in terms of meeting people; definitely better than any of the quads. Rooms are a bit smaller, and it’s a bit farther from class than the quads, though. You got a good assignment overall.

You will have the best memories of all other freshman. Markley is the place to be for freshman. Sometimes it can be too much fun though so be careful

Markley is the best place for a freshman to live if you want to have a freshman college experience in the dorms. It’s always going to be loud, but you’ll make a ton of friends. The rooms are small but livable (loft your beds in an L shape) and the food is actually pretty good. There are buses in the back that take you right to CC Little (main bus stop) but the walk is short.

Just finished living there during my Freshman year, agree with everything said above, but other than oxford, you have one of the longest walks to class compared to other dorms on central campus, doesn’t seem bad at first but it becomes a pain as the year goes on. Overall great place to live though.
