Hey everyone I applied to UMCP for Fall 2007 as soph transfer. My frist semester GPA was 3.25 with 16 credits, and I recieved a letter from them saying that they will not make a decision until they have my 2nd semester grades. Now, I am taking 17 credit hours this semster and will get a GPA somewhere in the range of 3.1-3.4. Does the fact that my GPA may have stayed pretty much the same hurt me or help me in the process? Also, I am from Out of state, if that makes a difference. If anyone could give me some insignt on this, it would be great!

I bet they were hoping your GPA would go up a bit. If you can get it above your first semester gpa, that would give you a very good shot. Work hard!

anyone else?

is it in a park?

lol...college park, MD. It's Maryland's flagship school. I know it's getting VERY competitive for in-state students so I can only imagine the comp. for OOS. Of course...as a transfer you may be at more of an advantage, I can't say. I got in from MD high school with a 3.5gpa/ 1290SAT, nothing special.
