Maryland decisions may be viewed online when made?

I do not know if anyone else noticed this but when my son went to the Maryland application status site today, where you click on "track your status online" and then "submit" to get to the log-in page, he then logged in with his SID (social security number) and pin (6 digits reflecting your date of birth--first two are the month, then next two the day and the last two the year --87). After signing in you look at the menu on the left side and click on "admissions" and then click on "Enrollment/Housing" which then notes that if you want to view your admission decision click "here'. Do this and apparently you can view your admissions decision. Hoever, since this is so hidden-away, it may only reflect admission decisions after you have been notified --I do not know, has anyone done this and received their decision online? My son got the meesage that they had not reached a decision yet. Question as to first whether whether any of the early decisions have been mailed yet and second, do you think you could learn sooner online ??? Anyone???

Hmmm... I didn't know that.

This is what I got
"We are unable to offer you a decision on your Fall 2004 application at this time.
You will be contacted as soon as the decision process is complete.

Thank you for your interest in the University of Maryland"

Is this the same for everyone? Also, why does it say Fall 2004? Shouldn't it be Fall 2005? or maybe they're saying that I submitted it in Fall 2004.

I will call.

I get the same thing, and it also says Fall 2004. Oh well, I can wait a little longer for my first decision. I guess.

Oh geeze.

Are you guys talking about the Testudo thingie?

Apparently, yesterday when I had looked on, it said:

Congratulations Insert Name!

You have been admitted to the University of Maryland for the Fall 2005 semester!

We are pleased to welcome you to one of the nation's finest research universities.

I was like...huh?

I got unable fall 2005, not 2004. It's a few days away so i suggest just waiting.

On the undergrad main site they posted a message in bold saying they will be posting decisions on the 18th, so they could either a) update the website to 2006 or b) have a comlpetely new website.

i have a feeling some people may hear earlier....but i guess we'll see. :)

My daughter submitted her application by the Dec. 1 deadline, but when she logs on to check her application status all she gets is a page showing that all the documents necessary for her application have been received. How does she get to the page where she logs in with her social security and dob and gets that message saying that admissions information will be posted on Feb. 18th?

<a href="http://www.admit.umd.edu/decision/decision.html%5B/url%5D">http://www.admit.umd.edu/decision/decision.html</a></p>

this is the page they used last year, so i'm not 100% sure that it will be the same one this year. it should be, but you can give it a try! :)

i applied priority and this is what it says:

Decision letters for Freshmen Fall 2006 applicants, who met the December 1 application deadline, will be mailed on Friday, February 17th. We are unable to release decisions over the phone. However, beginning Saturday, February 18th, you can access your decision online from this page.

Thanks for directing me to the right page to check my daughter's application status. I got the same message as everyone else: No information yet! But at least, now I know where to tell her to look on the 17th or 18th whichever the case may be.

no problem, but be sure to visit the main undergrad site on the 18th, because they will be posting a link there--so double check if it is the same link! good luck!

I went back and read the messages before mine. Noticed that some people are getting a message saying that people who applied priority will be getting decisions mailed on the 17th and posted on the 18th. My daughter applied priority but her message only says that decisions re: Fall 2005 applicants are not available at this time. Does that mean they are not recognizing her application as meeting the priority deadline? Should she be contacting someone at the school to check on this?

did that message appear on the link i provided? if so, then no, that just means that her decision is unavailable at this time, like to all the other priority applicants.

the message concerning the 18th is not to any specific people; it is on the main undergrad website, then click on apply. there is a general announcement to everyone in bold that "Decision letters for Freshmen Fall 2006 applicants, who met the December 1 application deadline, will be mailed on Friday, February 17th. We are unable to release decisions over the phone. However, beginning Saturday, February 18th, you can access your decision online from this page." -- this is not a message to any specific people.

Here's where it appears: <a href="http://www.uga.umd.edu/admissions/apply/default.asp%5B/url%5D">http://www.uga.umd.edu/admissions/apply/default.asp</a></p>

Yes, the message that no decision is available at this time appeared after I used the link. (Thanks again for that). That makes me feel better.

i know i met the priority deadline but i don't remember any confirmation stuff. Can't they atleast put it on their site that your application was submitted on this day or completed on this day?

are you sure? I got this tiny little post card in the mail saying thanks for your application, as well as an email confirmation:

Subject: University of Maryland Application Submissions Confirmation
Congratulations! You have just completed Part I and Part II of the Freshman Application.
Thank you for submitting your application and we are thrilled at your interest in Maryland.

it was a long while back so maybe you forgot about it:)

hopefully. I remember the e-mail but the problem is i can't access my old e-mail account. That little bit of info might have sparked my memory. i remember the e-mail but that only included the application part. I mean my checklist was completely checked up two days later b/c my teacher rec had not been received. The thing is my teacher had sent the rec over a month before that. Maybe they didn't update it?

I don't remember a postcard but it is entirely possible i got one and i just didn't put much stock into it. Now i got myself worried. I wasn't worried before. Stupid me.

Well i was going to look for that postcard you talked about and someone else told me about in a big big big pile. You know those piles of junk you know you will NEVER find anything in? After 10 seconds of searching I found a little postcard from UMD but i don't think it is the right one.
"thank you for your interest in the University of Maryland. Your aplicatoin for the fall 2006 term was received on 11/01/05. Please refer to the back of this card for more info"

o well i know i had everything checked on the second and I know the one thing they checked on the 12/2 was a teacher rec that had been sent in over a month before. I am not too worried but i guess i'll be worried if i don't have anything in the mail on friday even though i don't expect most people to have it on friday. i am going to get back to work

HOPE FOR NO SCHOOL TUESDAY@!!!!@#@!$!@!!!@!$!!
