Marymount Manhattan BFA Acting

D got into the MT BFA program. We were surprised, since we waited too long to sign up for the on campus auditions, so we submitted a video audition. Unfortunately, the financial aid package was abysmal. We’re really sorry she won’t be attending there.

Sorry to hear that @KnEzmom. We were able to attend because my son received good academic and artistic scholarships. I have heard of people contacting the school and asking for an increase in scholarship money. Sometimes they do get some more. It might be an option for you to try.

My S got his acceptance letter today to the BFA Acting program at MMC! I am hoping to see more posts just like this one!

Congrats!! @thestage603

Yay @thestage603! Great news!

thanks guys! It certainly releases the pressure cooker. He is thrilled!

Congrats thestage603 - great program!

Congrats! My daughter and her friend are very happy about their BFA Acting offers. Another friend, sadly, was just wait listed and told MMC won’t accept many, if any this year, off the wait list. (Still hoping for her, however.)

I appreciate all the information from everyone that posts on CC, so here goes my first: My son received his acceptance letter today for the BFA Acting program for MMC.

Congrats!!

Congrats @Dadofnjactingson!

Anyone going to Accepted Students Day at MMC tomorrow?

No, but I’d love to hear about it afterward!

@Creatives is it still a top choice for your daughter?

Yes! She is registered and signed up for the Orientation in June.

@DadofNJActingSon, is your son still interested in MMC?

@Creatives we put down our deposit yesterday at accepted students day so it’s official. My son felt a continued connection with MMC. The theater faculty were great (working professionals and mentors), the student body was enthusiastic, unlimited internship opportunities, I thought the dorms were nice, and found the 1 mile walk from dorms to campus to actually be enjoyable.

I was half expecting not to be charmed, but I was. I found the vibe to be everything my son is looking for. The most impressive is the intimacy of the program. I truly believe the professors know each student well, especially with a 12-14 to 1 class size.

We are really happy we went!

@thestage603 - my son is still very interested in MMC. It is his first choice however we are looking at all offers especially financial costs/awards. If MMC can come back with a better financial offer, he will definitely be going there. Hopefully we will know very soon. Has your son made a final decision yet?

@DadofNJActingSon, he has! He was pretty sure about the decision for the last few weeks but I wanted to attend the Accepted Students day that took place this past Sunday before making it official. I was really impressed with the theater faculty and the general vibe! We put down the deposits when we were there on Sunday, so it is official! Keep me posted on your Son’s decision, best wishes for a reduced financial aid package!!

Or should I actually say an ‘increased’ financial aid package
