I was accepted into the BFA acting program at Marymount and the BA acting (you audition for bfa program after freshman year) at Point Park with a 12,000 a year talent scholarship..which school/program seems to have a better/more respected program and would offer better opportunities? Thanks!

To me the biggest thing that turned me away from Point Park was the auditioning for BFA after freshman year… I really want a BFA and so I don’t want to go to a school where I’m not sure I’ll be getting that.

So that’s the first thing that pops into my mind when you’re comparing the schools; are you set on a BFA?

Also Marymount might help with the fact just being in the city, you might have more opportunities to audition and get actual work.
Personally, marymount seems more appealing to me, but I think both schools would give you a great education.

BEC, I have also been accepted to PPU and have tried to learn more about their program since I too was offered a large scholarship. My dad is business partners with a guy whose daughter studies in the bfa mt there. She has many friends in the ba mt program and says that the programs are practically identical, and that she wishes she could have just stayed along the BA track to get a more rounded education. I don’t know if that interests you but it’s something to think about.

If you are considering accepting an offer at Point Park you might want to check out posts #7 and 10 here before you turn down other acceptances:
