It's hard to find much information on this school. Anyone here have a child who attends, or know someone who does?
Thanks-

We know a couple of kids who go there-- not terribly well.

Thanks. Ran into one Mom whose child had a great experience there, but honestly had not heard of it before

A girl in my S’s class attended this school. I had never heard of it. This girl was very active in extra curricular activities (she was the editor of the school newspaper her senior year) I believe she was also very active at MCLA.

I do not believe she was the strongest student academically, but involved in many things and demonstrated leadership.

The kids I know who go there are both great–sweet, reliable, talented, but underachieving kids. Naviance shows average weighted GPA for our HS at MCLA as 2.6. It’s in a beautiful area and maybe a resource for someone whose grades really don’t reflect their potential…not sure.

Wow. Never heard of it before. Thanks for the new info!

**1932: **State Teachers College at North Adams
**1960: **North Adams State College
**1997: **Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts

It is a regional campus of the state university system in an old mill town.

It was North Adams State College back in the 90’s.

Thanks, all. Good to know. I was surprised to find so little online, other than their own website. I did find another thread here on CC where people were weighing it against some of the SUNYs. I’m not sure how to post the link–

Small public Liberal Arts College. Beautiful New England setting. Met an admissions rep a few years ago. Actively looking to enroll kdis from other states. Tuition break for New York State residents. Faculty qualifications look fairly good.

A family member went there for two years and then transferred to U Mass Amherst because of better course selection.
