Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts-What's it like?

Haven't seen a thread about this school and I think it deserves one.

What do all you smart people on CC know about this school? D visited and fell in love with it and will probably attend, and it's VERY affordable with scholarships etc., which I guess is really all we need to know. It's just that she got accepted to several techie schools for computer stuff/engineering so this is a complete turnabout for her and I'm just trying to recover from the mental whiplash. H & I are just laughing and shaking our heads, once again we've been hit over the head with a life lesson, maybe someday it will sink in!

She has good stats (SAT good, ACT great, I'm not talking CC standards) and A-/B+ GPA (90-91 school doesn't weight) with merit money from everywhere she was accepted so she has options, it's just I would have chosen MCLA for myself back in the day (humanities stuff) and we are so different. We want to know: Is this a suitcase campus? Will she find her academic people? What is Hoosack like because we only saw BT? Food? Is North Adams safe? Is a car necessary?

SIL and BIL attended there when it was North Adams State College. At that time, early 80’s, their students had llibrary privileges at Williams, which is only 7 miles away. Thought that was pretty cool. They were both science majors, before the focus of the school changed. All I got, sorry.
