Massacre Part II? Post your Decision

Yeah, I think the best way is to have a big thread and three smaller ones. Just reading through the monster thread last year is tough because its so large and hard to follow. Plus, it'll be easier to calculate statistics with the three smaller threads instead of scrolling through a huge thread and tallying.

How about one thread for decisions and one for feelings, regardless of the outcomes. It would be positive for all three decision groups to mingle and comfort/congradulate each other.

Decision thread could have the formatting thread started above, and feelings thread could have any formatting.

Other threads, such as next steps, financial aid details, etc., would pop up on their own. This would create a common ground.

And any juniors on the page could remember our two threads for posterity, long after we are gone.

I'm willing to post my decision in one... (two max) threads. So whatever, you guys figure out... is fine by me...

I'm sure others would move your posts around from thread to thread.

Um, kids...

I love you all, BUT I really don't want to be banned. Could you all please stop PMing me about the SITE WHICH MUST NOT BE NAMED. I'm on bedrest for at least another 2 weeks and if I don't have CC, then I will be such an unhappy camper.

Thanks guys. Trust me, CC can take care of all your admissions needs.

What about a simple update every little while, like on the EA roster thread. That way, it would be possible to see at a glance how things are going, people's information, and comments all togeather, and yet easy to read.

****Accepted-50
*
Deferred-0
*****Rejected-0

This could be the formatting for totals so that it would be very easy to spot.

ACCEPTED
1000/500/500/500, 2.0 U.W.

(extra comments)

Formatting for Decision Comments.

And other comments would be normal. That way, it would be easy to tell the difference between the three posts, while keeping it all togeather. Longer discussions about how to cope/celebrate could be in a second thread.

I like your format ideas for the big thread, Nickleby. I think they're great and will make everything as easy to follow as is possible with a monster thread.

However, I still like the idea of 3 smaller threads and would like Victoria's input since she's the one that came up with the idea. The concept wasn't to separate everyone, but to make expressing emotions ok without guilt. Others could still venture into the other threads and comfort others or celebrate them. However, if I get rejected, I don't necessarily want a bunch of living it up in my thread. You know?

Anyway, whatever the board decides is fine with me.

I hope you get better soon Lindsey!

I like that idea. So, we have it down to 1 large thread with the formatting ideas, and 3 smaller threads.

Also, most regulars aren't on right now. Tomorrow, if you are here, please comment on the ideas that the few of us have come up with tonight.

I like the big thread idea. I'll be fine with whatever you guys come up with.

Thanks :) I appreciate that.

I would think that we definitly need more than one board, otherwise the decision board will be crowded with long discussions. However, 1 or 3 boards for other discussions doesn't matter to me. We could start with 1 or 3 and always change it. That decision doesn't need to be made now.

Funny, who are we to make decisions.

Hi Lindsey.
Hi David.

I was just wondering.... what about if you formatted it like you suggested

ACCEPTED
1000/500/500/500, 2.0 U.W.

and then had one more line underneath where people could describe one thing about themselves that they think was a very important factor about their getting in (or about their application) , let's say in 5 words or less

football star
Westinghouse Science winner
Broadway actress
grew up in an igloo in Alaska

that way there would be something personal along with the numbers, but it would still be quick to read

I think andi's idea is perfect. :)

i like the idea of having a large thread where everybody talks about their feelings and congratulates each other and condoles and talks about feelings and support regardless of the decision, as well having three smaller threads, not necessarily for tallying right away... but if i get accepted i want somewhere to post HOLYCRAPOMYGOSHICANTBELIEVEHOWHAPPYIAM without feeling bad that people got rejected, just as equally, if i get rejected, i dont want people posting that in my face and i dont want holycrapigotrejectedifeellikecrap to bring down someone who is excited about getting accepted. we could even run 5 threads, the big feelings one, the three small ones and a tally one using Nicklebys format... on that thread everybody would only get ONE post so that tallying is easy,... and itll be easy to scan through it and see the scores, ECs and hooks of the acceptees.

o - and i would like to note that no matter what my outcome is ill be posting in multiple threads congratulating others, condoling others and being supportive no matter what. the divided threads idea was not to keep myself isolated, nor was it to separate people from eachother. just in case anybody was thinking like that.

I concur. I think andi's idea is wonderful.
