portlander: that's cool. i decided for similar reasons. i'm really interested in research and that was my primary factor in choosing MIT. i figured if i could work hard to get into mit, i'll definately be willing work hard to get into med school

i'm interested in brain&cogsci...where is there a link of pictures of the new building?

wesllesleygirl -
I chose MIT over Yale (which gave me total finaid) and stanford because of it's unique environment. I've decided I really wanna do science/engineering, and MIT really beats Yale and Stanford in this area - for academics, research, and the learning environment. I know I'll be depriving myself of more sleep with all those difficult psets, but looking at those who have graduated from MIT, I feel they've really learnt to think and look at the world differently. I guess it's the intense environment at MIT that really attracts me.

Yale and Stanford are great in their own way - and Yale would be good if you'd really want an extensive liberal arts education as well. But then I don't really think I would like New Haven - Cambridge/Boston seems so much lovelier! Go to MIT!!!=)

thank you mit_hopefulgirl and portlander for your responses! I also got awesome financial aid from MIT (and crappy from yale), and I would pick Boston over New Haven anyday, but since I'm not sure i'm going to major in science, i feel like it's not smart for me to go to MIT where most people are engineering/physics/cs majors....... and after going to both cpw and bulldog day I found that I could associate with people a lot better at Yale, and I loved the general atmosphere of the YAle campus, whereas I just felt stressed out at MIT.....Going crazy!! I have to decide ....by tomorrow? :(
