<p>It’s going on at a lot of firms, whether they are outright calling the dismissals “layoffs” or whether they are doing it quietly and somehow blaming the associates themselves. </p>
<p>It should be an interesting hiring season this fall for 2Ls as they hunt for summer associate positions.</p>
<p>My D has a close friend who will graduate from NYU law school next year. She said many firms are drastically reducing their summer class next year and some smaller firms are not even having a summer class.</p>
