master degree ....confused

hey guys
i am a final year mechanical engineering student …i just wanna know what does masters in petroleum engineering lead too and is it worth the degree what are the scopes …have no ideas in which field should i pursue masters

If you don’t have an excellent reason to pursue a Masters degree, then you should work for a few years and with that experience, you will learn if a Masters is the right thing for you to pursue. When you return you need to have specific goals for your career. Right now you need to start that career.

As an architecture major I will have to get an masters degree, however in engineering you don’t (not sure why architecture education is longer than engineering). Work in the field for a few years and then if you want to specialize in petroleum engineering or go into engineering management then get a masters. Don’t get a masters unless you have to for a better position. Engineering majors are the highest paid bachelor degrees (petroleum engineering being the highest) so don’t over qualify yourself with a masters. Get some work experience first.
