Nice Christmas present.

Congratulations OTamandua and son. Would the vocal performance program be a second major as part of the BME or are you talking about an additional BM or BA degree in vocal performance?

BassDad, he’s really not sure. I think the BME degree designation you’ve noted is fine for the time being. (BTW, he’s a Bass (II) as well. ">)

Thanks. I think that 18 is still too early to tell what range or fach many young singers may eventually settle into, so I am a little hesitant to include distinctions beyond simply “voice” in the list.

I will be attending the crane school of music next year at SUNY Potsdam. I play trumpet.

trumpet15, I will assume that this is a BM in trumpet performance unless I hear otherwise. Congratulations.

For now, I plan on updating the reports after every ten entries or after one week, whichever takes LONGER to happen. Since trumpet15 is our tenth acceptance, here is the first list. When the acceptances start coming in more frequently, we may decide to post more than one report per week.

I like the new format - much easier on these aging eyes!

Also, congrats to everyone.

Love the new format as well. The weekly and/or ten-entry updates will make this thread much more manageable. Thank you BassDad, and congrats to everyone else! Here’s to many more to come.

S accepted to Hartt (voice) as part of University of Hartford’s acoustical engineering / music program. :)

S accepted to Berklee. He is a songwriter and keyboard player. He would like to play basketball at Emerson–any thoughts on whether this is taking on too much? Also, what is the best approach to housing and finding a suitable roommate?

Congrats to JustaMom5465 and Son, and to einstein100 and Son.

JustaMom, I’m assuming that’s the BS acoustical engineering and music program, not the BM music tech/production offering.

einstein, I’ve listed the major as songwriting, with keyboard as the instrument.

If my assumptions are incorrect, leave a note, and one of us will amend it.

About half a shopping day left, folks.

Yes violadad, you’ve got it right, it’s the BSE & Music.

Einstein … congrats to your son. My daughter is starting there in January (voice/piano perf) and has a small studio apt right near Berklee. If you go on the Berklee website you can find links to housing; realtors post there also, and I found our realtor there. Once you have a realtor you can talk to about what the minimum req’ts are (cost, location, etc) then they can tell you what’s out there. If your son just needs connection to someone that needs another roommate, you can also find some leads there (Berklee housing website) or on Craigslist. PM me if you need more help.

sorry im going as an education major with a minor in jazz studies.

Thank you, trumpet15. I have made the changes in the spreadsheet and your entry will be corrected the next time we post an update.

My daughter (French horn player) found online that she was accepted to Ithaca College in the Music Ed program. We have not received the packet in the mail, so we are waiting to see if she is offered a scholarship. She is also waiting to hear from the University of New Hampshire.

Joeldor, congrats to you and your daughter. Let us know when you hear from UHew Hampshire, or any additional options she’s contemplating.

D accepted at Berklee for BM performance jazz voice. Nice scholarship. The acceptance note said they accepted 194 of 2000 applicants.

Now all the pressure is off for her other auditions. Maybe we can even cross off one or two.
