Congratulations to BaritoneDad and son, as well as to mtpaper and daughter.

mtpaper, if you would like to tell us how much the scholarship was worth, we do keep that information in the database. If you prefer not to say, we certainly understand.

As noted in another thread, congratulations to MLB523 and son on acceptances to Belmont and Berklee for a BM in Music Business and Piano Performance.

@BassDad
We’re not from Indiana; D got the IU Distinction Scholarship @ $9k per year; automatic based on her stats (Minimum SAT score of 1340; she had 1380; or minimum ACT of 30; she had 31; minimum GPA of 3.80; she had 3.92)

Tenorssmom, my daughter auditioned at Maryland for the voice program. We were told they would try to let us know mid-February, but we heard some rejections already went out (could be because the university itself released its admissions decisions already and I believe you must meet the university’s admission requirements also).

@mtpaper - My daughter also got the IU Distinction scholarship. We still haven’t heard from Jacobs although she also auditioned on the 14th. Hopefully soon.

We are planning another trip - hopefully not prematurely. D hasn’t had a lesson with anyone at Jacobs, although we did meet with a possible teacher during audition weekend. The teacher told her she would accept d into her studio. D and teacher just set up a lesson time and the teacher is going to arrange for her to attend orchestra rehearsal, some other student’s lessons, and some classes. We will also get to attend the senior recital a former student of D’s current teacher. I’m hoping this isn’t all for naught since we don’t have the official acceptance in hand.

Also while we’re there, my daughter wants to talk with someone from the Hutton Honors College.

Daughter was accepted to University of Maryland School of Music for voice performance. The acceptance letter said the number of outstanding undergraduate applicants was the highest it has ever been. We were told they had approximately 200 applicants for about 15 spots. The letter also said that scholarship notification will not be until March 18th. Fingers crossed! FYI, In reference to other posts I’ve read, D did not have a private lesson before auditioning.

As noted on another thread, congratulations to flutechica on acceptance as a flute performance major at Gettysburg College (Sunderman) and at the University of Alabama.

clearandsunny - YAY, my son was accepted to BM and BE dual degree. Now we wait for the scholarship letters because we are out of state. Do you know if the college scholarships come in the same letter as the music school ones? Will your daughter go there?

Bass Dad-great job of keeping up the list.
From the Hartt thread, psualum80’s S was accepted to Hartt for Music Production with a concentration in Jazz Studies. No instrument was indicated.

Momofbassist, thanks for bringing that to my attention.

Congratulations to psualum80 and son for acceptance to the University of Hartford’s Hartt School in their BM Music Production and Technology program with a concentration in Jazz Studies, as noted on another thread.

Just a thank you for helping a confused mom navigate the application and audition process for my son a percussionist interested in music production and engineering. This group helped me narrow down the colleges offering the major he wants and the information on a Performance Resume was most valuable and I believe helped him get accepted to his first choice college. He applied early action to Berklee, auditioned in Boston on December 11th and the magical acceptance letter arrived December 24th…

He will start as a percussion performance major and after the first semester will apply for the music production and engineering major… If accepted to MP&E I believe that becomes the major.
