The first acceptances for those who will be starting in fall of 2012 have been posted, so it is time to start the Master List.

As we did last year, we will keep the cumulative list in a spreadsheet and post a summary here every now and again. We encourage students or their parents to post individual announcements to this thread and will acknowledge those that we notice have been made on other threads. Once I have had a chance to set up the spreadsheet, I will post a message with a link to it.

We start off the list with congratulations to Compdad’s son on acceptance to Oberlin Conservatory as a composition major, and to Rosie26’s daughter on acceptance to Oberlin Conservatory as a vocal performance major.

As always, thanks for keeping this list. I used this list quite a bit last year to ask folks questions about their application and audition experiences, and it was very helpful.

We have our first acceptance. University of Hartford, BM Composition.

Thanks to all the CC’ers on this forum who have been so willing to share information.

A note to those reporting acceptances: Should you care to provide the amount of any Merit/Talent-based scholarships offered, we will be very happy to include that information in our spreadsheet. We do not wish to include need-based financial aid in our data. I certainly understand if you prefer not to share scholarship information. If you are only willing to divulge that information anonymously, send me a PM and I can include the amounts in our overall totals without specifying to whom they were offered.

Ha Ha BassDad! I certainly meant “we” in the figurative sense. I play no instrument and have no musical talent. I am really good with spreadsheets though. So, I get to be the organizer.

Pinned this year’s acceptance thread to the top of the Music Majors forum. I’m looking forward to seeing this list grow and grow over the next several months. Break a leg to this year’s music applicants!

Thank you, BassDad, as always, for starting this list and maintaining it, and giving back to CC past the time your child went through this process.**

I appreciate your prompt action in pinning this thread. I am also looking forward to seeing it grow and hope it will be of use to those who travel this road in future years.

As noted on other threads, congratulations to Meshaboo for acceptance to Music Industry programs at the University of New Haven and the University of Hartford.

A note to those reading this thread in the future: Skip to the last page and look for the final set of reports if you wish to get an overall summary without wading through hundreds of messages as acceptances are announced one by one. The most complete and up-to-date information will be always be available at the spreadsheet referenced in post 3 above.

My son received his acceptance from St. Rose, both to the college and the music program. If he attends, he will be doing their music industry program with a jazz performance minor. He plays both electric and upright bass.

Thanks for creating this thread.
I was under the impression that Oberlin did not have early review for composition majors, in fact was told this specifically last year by admissions, therefore did not pursue early review as an option. I would be interested if anyone knows about this. Did they change their policy?
