Thanks BASSDAD. My son was admitted into Steihardt S. of Music NYU with 15 K offer. MSM no aid. Bard College, not the conservatory, big mystery. Aid info not at hand yet. Mannes offer is generous. Stony Brook U. offer is 5 K / year. No word on NEC yet.

Congratulations to momophony and son, and to ierickson and son.

ierickson, should your son go to Bard would he be in the BA program for Music? If so, I will modify that listing. If not, I will delete it.

Congratulations also to Tjolmsy who reports on another thread an acceptance for Spring 2013 with a waitlisting for Fall 2012 from Berklee. Hopefully more information will be forthcoming.

Congratulations to jp0970 who reports on another thread acceptances for Jazz Studies in piano to Portland State University, City College of New York and University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music.

Thanks SQUIGGLES, a phone call today told us that everything is different for a transfer student and he won’t be notified until early May. More phone calls to follow, I guess! Argh.

BassDad,
My S got accepted to SFCM, MSM, and NEC for composition. SFCM provides $16k merit, and NEC only $5k merit. We hope that NEC will provide higher merit scholarship. MSM’s merit is not mailed to us yet.

Congratulations to Prestodad and son. NEC is often on the low side when it comes to merit awards, so I would not take it personally. Does your son sing or have a primary instrument that I could list in his entry?

piano is the main instrument.

Thank you.

My son plays the flute. Auditioned at USC, UCLA, UCSB, BU. Was accepted to all except USC. Was given $4,000 annual merit aid at UCLA. Will go to UCLA.

BassDad,

When does the list go up for Final Decisions? And thank you for all that you do! :)

Congratulations to moniquevs and son. Are all of these for performance majors?

nyboundsoprano, I will start posting final decisions lists once we have a reasonable number of them We only have ten or so to date, but I expect that number will start to grow quickly in the next week or two.

Hey, Bassdad–Son received $10,000/year merit scholarship at Loyola Marymount U for Recording Arts (you have the acceptance listed already). And, happily, that’s where he’s going!

And this is my final boy, so you’t have the SJTH fam to kick around anymore…(though of course you can’t get rid of me THAT easily ;)

Final Acceptance/Denial List

Accepted: OKCU, Belmont, Boston University, Boston Conservatory, New England Conservatory

Denied: Eastman (truly the shocker given prior feedback) and made it to live Juilliard auditions, but was not accepted.

Along the way withdrew a couple of applications and is still waiting to hear from Peabody, but feels all signs point to Boston at this point.

Strong financial packages at all, but when you are talking 40-55 thousand for school, it still leaves a nice bill to figure out!

Son was accepted at Berklee College of Music and The New School for Jazz as a jazz performance major on piano.

Hi, BassDad. Scholarship update for my son – finally all in writing! $6500 academic, $10,000 music. We’ll let you know when a decision is made!

Oops – that was for CCM.

Hi my daughter received a scholarship offer for $11,200 at Roosevelt College of Performing Arts Chicago. Congratulations to everyone posting!

Congratulations to SJTH and son, crazymusicmom and son, viacap and son, jazzpianomom and son, and doctorlove11 and daughter,

crazymusicmom, please let us know when that decision is definite.

All, I just noticed that we are collectively over $2 Million in scholarship offers. That sets a new record for this list, even though we probably have at least a couple hundred more acceptances to come. I am not sure whether schools are offering more this year or people are more willing to report their amounts but, either way, good work by those who are auditioning.

My son finally received a packet from NEC today. He was accepted to Wilerstein studio which he hoped all along but never thought he would actually meke it in. He is ecstatic. NEC offered $25000 merit and school scholarships with $9000 of loan and workstudy. He was also accepted to Juilliard with $14000 scholarship + loans totaling $25000. He was not assigned to a studio yet. With Rice as the third option, he has a hard decision to make. Thanks to everyone for posting informations to share. It Was good to know there are other parents in the same boat and supporting each other. I will post my son’s destination once he decides.

Congratulations to Octaves and son.

Congratulations also to sophiamagro who, on another thread, reports acceptances to both St. Olaf and Northwestern as a double degree student in vocal performance and most likely psychology, and to Milllikin and University of Michigan in vocal performance.

Congratulations to Stillnousername who, on another thread, reports acceptances to Belmont and Northeastern as a Music Industry major.

Four years goes by so quickly. I blinked my eye and my D is off to grad school. She will be attending Rice for MM Oboe Performance.
