The first acceptances for those who will be starting in fall of 2013 have been posted, so it is time to start the Master List.

As we did last year, we will keep the cumulative list in a spreadsheet and post a summary here every now and again. We encourage students or their parents to post individual announcements to this thread and will acknowledge those that we notice have been made on other threads. Once I have had a chance to set up the spreadsheet, I will post a message with a link to it.

The upcoming year's Master List of Final Decisions will be created once those decisions start getting made.

A tip: read prior master lists from the end, working your way backwards toward the start. They contain cumulative lists, with the last one probably being the most valuable.

A call for help: maintaining these lists are a lot of work. When I had violadad helping out a couple of years back, the task was a lot easier than it was last year when I did this on my own. If there is someone else out there who is interested in sharing the job with me, please let me know. I will be more than happy to show you how to use the spreadsheet where all the information is stored. The main qualifications are that you read the vast majority of postings on the Music Major section of CC and are good at paying attention to details.

We start off what I hope will be a long list with congratulations to megpmom and son, on son’s acceptances by Westminster Choir College and Oklahoma City University in classical vocal performance, as noted in another thread.

Congratulations to alexmariejp and daughter on daughter’s acceptance for Music Education (double bass) at Duquesne and Tulane, as noted on another thread.

I would like to encourage students and parents to report any and all acceptances as a major in music or a music-related field on this thread. I will try to scan all postings under the Music Majors section of College Confidential, but I will definitely get the data into the spreadsheet if it is posted on this thread.

Congratulations to LoveMeTenor and son on son’s acceptance as a vocal performance major at Westminster Choir College, as noted on another thread.

I am happy to report that my D, aka K8, was accepted into the Commercial Voice program at Belmont University.

Thanks to everyone who has been so helpful to us in our year of discovery, doubt, and disarray - there are more auditions and (hopefully) acceptances ahead, but it’s good to get this first one in the bag - she completely fell in love with Belmont on her audition weekend.

We know that the help and advice we received through CC has made the experience so much more rewarding - and extremely less stressful. Thank you all so much! I hope to “pay it back” the way you have for us. What an outstanding group of parents and students!

My Soprano D has been accepted to Westminster Choir College for Vocal Performance. Several more auditions to go, but it is very nice to start off in a positive way!
