Congratulations to lastbird and daughter.

Got an email today and Iāve been accepted to the Butler School of Music at University of Texas - Austin for the Master of Music Violin Program. Also been accepted by the university. Will hear about financial aid in a couple weeks!

Congratulations to gyoun09.

My first time posting after a long time lurking :). Thanks BassDad and other parents for all your efforts.

Please add to the list my Dās first acceptance, on 2/18, at Westminster Choir College, piano performance major.

Congratulations to projectthrive and daughter.

S accepted to Michigan State University, BM Performance Double Bass.

Congratulations once again to MomTheRoadie and son.

I knew my daughter would find out soon from FSU their decision, for on the āstatus checkā page, it said that a decision had been made and would arrive shortly in the mail (this was a week ago that I read that). However, we live in a remote part of the U.S., where it seems to take FOREVER for mail to reach us, so I wasnāt surprised that we hadnāt received a letter yet.

Today, both my D and I received emails from the same person requesting us to become a part of a Facebook group: FSU Vocal Class of 2017. I checked into it, and it says itās for recently admitted vocal majorsā¦so I guess itās true! And the person that set up the page? The Director of Choral Activities at FSU!

So, even though we donāt have the letter yet, I think I can sefely say that my D has been accepted as a VP major at Florida State University. Her first acceptance - yay! The waiting is SOOOO hard!!! And itās not just her first acceptance - itās the first school sheās heard from, periodā¦and we only sort of heard from them. :)

After being accepted for Vocal Performance at Belmont, Fredonia, Ithaca, and Crane for Fall 2012, DD deferred Crane for a year because she got ādiscoveredā, and is modeling in NYC this year. A fun experience, but she misses singing. Now that sheās familiar with the city, she decided to apply at State University of New York Purchase for VPā¦and got her acceptance today! Their opera program looked very inviting to her. Any opinions on Purchase would be welcome.

Congratulations to saxlady and daughter, and to VocPerfMom and daughter.

saxlady, I assume this is for a BM vocal Performance program. Please let me know if that is not the case.

Hi! I just learned that I was accepted to Lawrence Conservatory today via email :)

Congratulations, SopranosGotPower. Is this for a BM in vocal Performance?

Oh my goshā¦Iām sorryā¦my mom misread the email! Just kidding, I wonāt know until late march!

BassDad, yes itās for a BM (I wrote that on FB once, and someone thought I meant something else!) in VP.

SGP: Ouch. Well, at least you are still in the running. Good luck. You may have given a bit of a scare to other Lawrence applicants when you announced your āacceptanceā.

saxlady: Yes, we do have a lot of acronyms around here, some of which can easily be misinterpreted.

Hahaha, the email basically congratulated me for giving them all of my application materials. They even called me. I read the email, and it looked like an acceptance, but i guess nobody will know until the end of the month!

The waiting is torture!!! And we have 2 schools where the profs have contacted my son but weeks have gone by without the official decision āin writingā. Thatās just teasing!

^My first music student is currently applying to grad school. I was stunned to learn fairly recently that all of his schools wonāt even be sending their admission decisions until close to April 1. The National Decision Day for grad students is April 15!! Sheesh. That makes the waiting all the more painful! These ākidsā will have TWO WEEKS to weigh their options and decide? Wow. And what if they want to visit a few of their prospective teachers for sample lessons? Itās going to be a really fast-paced April this year!

Daughter was accepted at CU Boulder violin performance. Has a $3,000 per year academic scholarship but now waiting for music scholarship information. At CCM, previously listed, accepted for violin performance, she has a $5000 per year academic scholarship. Still waiting for any music scholarship info. at CCM.

SimpleLife,
Eastman has promised its undergrad applicants that it will get a decision to themā¦by April 15th. I sure hope they are ahead of schedule this year! Two weeks is definitely not a lot of time to make a decision.
