Master List of Music School Acceptances, Fall 2013

My son was accepted to CU Boulder with a great scholarship offer. He really liked what he saw upon visiting, and he’s excited about working with what appears to be a smart, very cohesive faculty! I’ll be posting on the Final Decisions thread as well.

Congratulations to SimpleLife and son.

After much deliberation, DS will be attending Juilliard for a BM in trombone performance, studying with Joe Alessi. Thank you to Bassdad and all the folks on CC for the support!

At the 11th hour (as someone else already stated), my DS will be accepting admission and scholarship to Boston Conservatory for a BM in Composition. Thanks to this community for providing a lot of answers through the stressful process!

Hello! I am a long time lurker, but I wanted to let everyone know about acceptances and whatnot. I auditioned at DePaul,Rutgers, and CCM for my MM in clarinet performance. I got into DePaul and Rutgers, and was on the wait list at CCM until last week when I got offered admission! CCM was my first choice so I will be attending in the fall!

I got in on May 1 to McGill University for a BMus in vocal performance. I auditioned in March.

The late acceptance was my fault because I forgot to send them my transcripts. After sending them my transcripts, I was accepted within 24 hours. I figured I’d mention it just because I’m proud of being admitted, and for future reference – McGill applicants need to make sure they check online and have all of their materials in. Luckily, the people that work there are really nice about accepting late materials, and admissions is very efficient.

Congratulations to Danoyella and ImThinking.

Congratulations to Singersmom07 and daughter, on daughter’s acceptance for the MM in vocal performance at CIM, as noted on another thread.

S plays clarinet. He was accepted to DePaul and Kansas as a performance major (BM). Based on scholarships and wanting to stay a bit closer to home, he has chosen to attend Kansas in the fall.

Congratulations to cndyman and son.

Congratulations also to basstrumpet, who plays both double bass and trumpet, for acceptance for both Jazz Performance and Music Education at George Mason University, as noted on another thread.

I know a while back I posted that I’d been waitlisted at UMich for vocal performance. I found out on May 3rd that I was been accepted…though I had already committed to Oberlin and do still plan to go. It was a very tough decision, though!

mezzo13, congratulations on being admitted at UMich!! I know how hard that wait must have been for you - as it was for us too - but congratulations on all the great admittances! I am sure you will love Oberlin. I had wanted my daughter to apply there too, but she really wanted to go to a large university, but I think Oberlin is a wonderful school. Congratulations again!

Congratulations to mezzo13.

Congratulations also to ksstringdad and daughter, on daughter’s admission to Boston University for an MM in violin performance, as noted on another thread.

Congratulations to tntweav and son on son’s admission to programs in composition and piano performance at Mannes, as noted on another thread.

It is getting about time to wrap things up for this year. If you would like to have your admissions and decisions in the last summary post for this admissions season, please get them to me this week.

Thank you, saxlady! I am certainly pleased with the results of all of my applications, and so excited to be able to attend Oberlin  Congratulations to you and your daughter, as well, and best of luck to her at Michigan! Since we’re both singers, I bet I will see her around one day :)

Congratulations to StringPop and daughter, on daughter’s acceptance for BM violin performance to Queens College Aaron Copland School of Music, as noted on another thread.

Last call for acceptances to be included in the summary thread for this year.

Dug through the files to put this together. Hoping this makes last call and fits your format.

The whole application-audition-financial aid process was hard work but fascinating. As you can see, there was a wide range of scholarship offers from 0 to full tuition. D had the opportunity to choose from several very good offers from excellent schools.

Congratulations to jazzvocals and daughter. Harvard/NEC with that large a scholarship is quite a coup. What will her major be at Harvard for the AB?

BassDad - Harvard does not give merit scholarships. That must be need-based aid - unless it’s somehow from NEC?
