<p>I don’t think you can take that question as a sign one way or the other. It gets asked a lot, for a variety of reasons. Sometimes it is only a way to get the applicant talking to the panel. Sometimes they are trying to see how much thought the applicant has put into the process. Sometimes they are trying to scope out their competition. I’m sure there are others as well, so it is not a reliable indicator of future interest. Enduring the period after the audition and before the decision is probably the hardest part of the whole process. Hang in there.</p>
<p>D is accepted to oboe performance major at UW-Madison.</p>
<p>Saxlady - we were at U of M yesterday as well and my kid was asked the same question as to what other schools that were being applied to. Nothing to worry about. Happened today at CMU also.</p>
<p>Saxlady - my D is asked this question in almost every sample lesson she takes, but not usually in the audition. Of course, it’s the same faculty doing the auditioning, so I guess at least one of them already knows what other schools she is applying to! Professors are quick to point out if they think one of her schools doesn’t fit in with the rest.</p>

<p>I have received a music scholarship from Xavier, but the amount isn’t known. I will update with more acceptances and scholarship information as it comes in the mail!</p>
<p>SopranosGotPower, congratulations. If we are talking about the Xavier University in Cincinnati, their website indicates that the only degree they offer in Music Education is a BS, not a BA. I am going to list it that way in the spreadsheet unless I hear from you that I have the wrong school or that they have started up a new BA Music Ed program that is not yet reflected on their website.</p>
