Master's at CSUs or UCs?

I graduated from Cal Poly in aerospace engineering a couple months ago. I am thinking about getting a master's, but I was wondering does it matter to employers where I get my degree? I'm limited financially so this is why I am considering CSUs at the moment, but normally most people get a bachelor's at a CSU and do grad school at a UC. Is the engineering curriculum in grad school the same at a CSU and UC?

I would say just stick with a Cal Poly school if you’re going to get your master’s. I wouldn’t consider any other CSU than one of the Cal Poly’s for a masters. Go UC otherwise.

What is making you in a hurry to get your master’s? Take a few years, get some job experience, then you will have a much better idea about where to go to grad school.

If you can get a research assistantship at a UC (or any research institution for that matter), go for it. It’ll help pay for your master’s, and you’ll have plenty of opportunities to make connections with employers in the process.

I’m not really in a hurry to go back to school. I guess the main reason for me going back is that I haven’t had luck in landing a full-time job. All this time I’m applying for jobs and waiting, I feel like I’m losing valuable time and not being productive in sharpening my skills. I know eventually I would like to get a Master’s, but I wasn’t sure if it’d be after working for a couple years or right away.

I thought of the research assistantship, but it seems really competitive to land one. I’ll look more into it though.
