I know this is ridiculously early to think of Post-graduate when i have'nt started UG
But here is it anyways-
If i assume that i am in debt by 28K-30k $ by the time i finish my UG?How will i afford
PG as my parents will not give me dime at PG level
Also to pay back this debt should i take business or Engineering(considering salary).
I have equal passion for both fields of study and besides my real passion is something totally socially unacceptable.Ha Ha

dude that debt of yours is hardly anything at all!!....it'll take a max of 2 years to repay....for your PG u should try to get as many schlps/fellowships....and if u have a good enough gpa at the end of your UG then those won't be any problem....

dude that isnt a debt at all...u'll get an excellent salary in engineering...arnd 60-80k lol so wats the problem...

u all intl seem to be confident but i am a scaredy cat the quetion 'what If??' prevents me from getting a bigger debt .besides my parents will be my cosigner
so i cant put their retirement at risk what if i cant pay that high a debt, i get expelled or something..............
But thanks for the encouraging and assuring advice. It doesnt fell so scary now that i konw some intls will be in the same boat

hav a bit of confidence in yourself and your abilities....theres no gain in being a pessimist....when u r going to graduate you'll be well qualified to repay that loan of yours....i am going to go for a loan whose amount will be 4 times yours and i am still not nervous at all....

Dhanprad, Dexter is right :)

btw dexter where are you taking that loan from .. IN India teh max u can get outta banks is a 20 lakhs right..??

SM

the max i have come across is 25 lacs by HSBC....the rest i am gonno take from the US....

I think you should do a search in the Parent's Forum on student debt.

Debt is a bigger problem than some of you seem to realize, especially when you are taking on large amounts of it.
