Masters degree in biology

Hi guys!
I am really anxious right, i just found out that i failed my final on neuroscience, and my total grade might be a D
My major GPA is 3.4
This my only D, is tgere still a chance to apply to a masters program?!
I had financial problems during this semester, i failed my first midterm because the day before that i was in the civil court and now i was evicted from my appartemnt a few days ago because of non payment and i could not study well for my final.

Is this your last year? If not, you might be able to repeat the course next year and have the grade excluded from the GPA. If this is your last year, then it is likely that your GPA won’t be horribly affected by a single course. You might have to apply to a bit less selective schools.

If this one grade is an aberration, you can just mention “personal issues” for a bad semester. Don’t make excuses though.

Finally, if you have financial problems, why are you wanting to get a Masters right away? You will likely have to self-fund it and that will only stress you out financially even more. Instead, try to get a job and reconsider graduate school in a couple of years. I have seen a number of Masters students come into our Biology program with a marginal undergraduate record but the after a few years of job experience they become excellent graduate students. The added time makes for a more mature and focused approach to studying.
