Masters in CS

Hi, I'm a junior at UCSD expecting to graduate in Spring 2010 and was interested in applying to UCLA for a Masters in CS. I was wondering when I should apply (post junior year such that I start Fall 2010 or post senior year such that I start Fall 2011), and also what criteria UCLA will look at for admission. I can't find much on the website other than a minimum 3.3 GPA in Junior and Senior years.

Thanks

That depends if you want to take a year off or not.

You probably read the minimum requirements, which is all you need for consideration. The criteria will be about the same as any other grad school:

–GPA
–Letters of Recommendation
–Statement of Purpose + Personal Statement
–Experience
–GRE

Read Mor Harchol-Balter’s paper on applying for a PhD in computer science. I know you’re not asking about PhD, but it’s very helpful.

do u have any CAL exp? i’m 2 yrs cal-p #APUSH

not really, high was only one season in IM and that was in 9th grade, which was 6 years ago

Right… but do they want to me applying with all my classes completed? Is there a disadvantage to applying while you still a years worth of courses left?
