masters in engineering

if you go to purdue and do electrical engineering with technology is it possible to do your masters in electrical engineering like at a school at carnegie mellon etc? cause ive seen some ppl do a BA degree and get there masters & PhD in engineering

If you are asking whether many Purdue grads in EE go on to get their masters at other highly regarded schools such as Carnegie Mellon, the answer is yes. If you are asking whether you will be able to do so, it depends on how well you do at Purdue because you will need high college GPA and high GRE scores to be considered.

you are EET not an EE, so the answer is no.

What's the difference between that and EE?

is there ANY way to transfer from one dept to another?? say supposingly you get really good grades and get recommendations from your teachers can you transfer to the college of engineering?

yes, it is possible to do that

Yeah, usually the requirement for admission is a bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, or other "allied fields".

There may be certain prerequisite courses you are forced to take before beginning the regular MS curriculum...which may extend the time you spend in grad school. so you should take that into account

Also, it may be helpful to contact prospective schools and ask what prerequisite courses are expected of entering MS students, and you should try to complete those at your current university if possible.

how much longer would it usually take? to fullfill the prereqs on avg?

I went from biology with 0 background in CS to master in CS and I think I will need to take 2-3 years before I can graduate.

I think it also depends on the program. Some programs have less requrements so you can graduate in 1.5-2 years provided you take excessive amount of classes every term.

In other programs, you can graduate within 2-3 years because the required classes' schedule are not in sync so you have to wait couple of semesters before you can take the classes you need.

how long does it usually does it take to do a MS?

MS is usually a 2 year program
