Masters in Operations research - where to apply

Hi,
I am interested in Operations Research as a Master Degree - preferably in the USA/Canada.
Background -- undergrad : Mechanical Engineering
Work ex : 5+ years in the Analytics industry in supply chain and customer service with a computer hardware manufacturer.
Undergrad GPA : 2.88 (standardized)
Also, i am asian (indian) and almost 27.

Would there be anyone out here who can help me understand what kind of colleges can i look to apply to? - wherein I have a realistic chance of being accepted.
I am interested in continuing to work in this industry and am even considering a PhD, though not immediately as i gather that if i do go to a college I will need to pay off my tuition and that might take a couple of years at least.
Also, will my chances of being accepted be hampered since i have been away from college for 6 years? I have been unable to get back to college due to financial reasons but I am still good to study. But will a college look upon these 6 years unfavourably?

Thanks.

@redbeard‌ : you seem to have some idea here. Can you please help

To be honest with a very low GPA, I don’t know how good is your chances. But I think Columbia University has a good IEOR MS program.

i think i jumped the gun on my GPA, i translated a 72% - to a 4.00 gpa score . hence 2.88. but looks like i was wrong. I will recalculate the correct numbers once i have gone through my transcripts. At my university , the topper had about 82% that year. I am not sure how these scores are standardized. Also, i was in the upper 10 percentile. Not sure how thus is gauged by universities

That’s much better GPA.
