Masters in Petroleum Engineering

Okay so im a Senior at Penn State majoring in ME. I've been really considering grad school for a while now. The natural gas industries really seems to be doing good where I live (south west PA). Since I will have my BS ME degree would I be marketable to the gas industry if I got a MS in Petroleum? I have been doing some research and I can't seem to get a clear cut answer on the outlook of the industry, so any insight you guys can give me would be great.

Yeah reppin southwest PA! Haha I just finished my freshman year at Penn St Behrend but I transferred to USC. My home town is flooded with gas wells on Marcellus Shale. I’m just going from what I’ve heard, since I’m only going to be a sophomore I’m sure there’s more knowledgable people out there. But if Pete E is what you now want to do, then go for it. Even when the gas companies are done on marcellus shale they’ll move onto utica shale, which extends into Ohio and is deeper than marcellus. But to answer your question, yes I believe a MS in Pete E would look good.
