Master's Program in Structural Engineering

I'm a senior Architectural Engineering student at The University of Texas at Austin interested in studying Structural Engineering at a higher level.

Major GPA: 3.61
Overall GPA: 3.38

I'd like some possibility of getting funded, although it is not imperative. Where do you suggest I apply? What should be my reach schools, my safe schools, and my just-about-right schools?

Also, I'll have had 5 months of experience with a large general contractor (Hensel Phelps) and 7 months of experience with a blast-structures firm (Baker Risk) upon graduation.

Thanks for the help.

And I’ll have 1-2 semesters of research in relevant fields. I’m currently working on wind turbine analysis.

I would suggest UT, lol! I was an ArchE at UT. I got my MS in Structures there, also.

You’ve probably had my dad as a prof. :)

The majority of my professors were great.

How was your GPA? When did you attend?
Oh, and were you funded?

I had a 3.82 overall GPA. Slightly lower engineering GPA, around 3.7. I was funded totally. Back in the dark ages - 1984-1986.

I might be able to get into thw grad program, but funding is important and unlikely in the current economic situation. I’d love to attend, I just don’t think the money will make itself available.

Any other suggestions?
