Match me-Do I have a chance of getting in?

Match me for the following schools: Brown, Yale, Wesleyan, Oberlin, Swarthmore, Clark, Dickinson, Skidmore, Binghamton, Ithaca College, Syracuse U

Also, would it be of any use to apply ED to one of my dream schools (Brown or Swarthmore)? When I went to an info session at Brown, they said not to apply ED because it won’t help my chances. Is that true?

Thanks!

What is your home state? Any hooks?

Your list is well balanced among reaches, matches, and safeties. And ED is a good idea.

I live in New York. I don’t really have any hooks becasue I’m a white female from a rather well off area. If being a female interested in neurology and photography is a hook, I guess that would be mine.

Be careful you’ve sufficiently researched any target before applying early. Or RD. And done the work to understand your full match, not just what you’d like.

Swat, Yale, and Brown don’t have neurology majors, though some classes will cover some material.

ACT, btw, isn’t just about composite. The sub scores matter. Your AP and subject scores in chem can affect chances. Earlier, you said 670 in math2. If you mean neuroscience, any ECs that reflect this interest?

It is much more advantageous to apply early to a liberal arts school than an Ivy unless you are an alumni or an athlete.

@lookingforward I believe Brown and Yale both have neurology programs. That’s area of study I’ve listed for both of them on the Common App. Swarthmore has a cognitive science major that I’m very interested in. For the ACT, my weakest area was math, which was a 33. I got 36 on the science section and 35 on reading and writing each. Will the lower math score be a big problem? (Also I won’t be sending that 670 math 2 score).
