I’m the first in family to attend college. Both of my parents were unable to complete high school because of the Bosnian War/Genocide. But, they did immigrate here. I don’t know if those two negate each other haha
So that does make you first gen, which makes you a URM for many colleges. This is helpful, and your GPA seems good (probably something like a 3.9+ in a 4.0 scale). This puts you in a good position for admissions. Of course, as other have pointed out, your main focus needs to be on finances.
You are very definitely a good Questbridge candidate. If you are not a finalist, you can then go to ED wherever you want. However, if you make finalist, that means that you can, essentially, ED to up to 12 of their partner colleges. These include 23 Liberal arts colleges, many which are being recommended here. Admissions chances for QB finalists are, in general, better than those of ED applications, especially since, if you are not matched, your application is kept and considered during RD for all member colleges.
There are great recommendations here, and I have nothing to add to them, but Good Luck!!
Thank you so much!
