Match me! GTOWN/UVA/CORNELL ETC.

I am a junior at an extremely competitive public high school in very competitive Westchester County NY. (Yes, I live among the Clintons)

My current GPA is 4.0 (A+) and my weighted GPA is 4.2, and I am in the top10% of my class

I have received an A in every class except Bio (I never want to see that subject again- I received a B+)

I am in 3 AP'S
-Spanish Lang. A
-APUSH A+
-Microeconomics A+ (Expect 5's in both APUSH and Micro

Also I am in
-Honors English A
-Honors Chem. A
-Honors Band A+ (trombone-7 years of playing)

The thing that hurts me is that I am not in Pre calc, but I have an A+ in Math.

Here is where I'm scared my SAT from April was 1920 CR:660 W:640 it gets worse M:620
OMG!!!!!!!!!
I have been working my butt off and my practice math is 710 CR:700 and W:690 a composite of 2100
(It is very weird that I did so terribly on math when it was my best section before the April test)

I have 1 SAT II: Bio 690
and I plan to take SAT II's in Math1 and US History (Did very well on practice tests as in US:740 Math:710)

I am taking 3 AP’s next year
-AP US Gov & Pol
-AP English
-AP Spanish (two year course so I guess it counts only as one)

I don't know if this helps but on every NY State regents I have received a 95 or higher. (There is a regents for every subject in NYS)

Sports:
I am on the varsity football team and I played high school football all three years (Guard)
I also been on the varsity swim team all three years of high school (all strokes)

EC’S:
-I am a delegate at my schools Model United Nations and I am going to the national conference in May
-I am in VASSA (Varsity Athletes Against Substance Abuse) and I have gone to the middle school several times to be a positive influence and preach against drugs and alcohol
-I am an active member of my church (Youth Group, mow lawn of church, clean church, etc.)
-NHS Member and I am the elected treasurer
-My most important EC is Civil Air Patrol (CAP) the Official United States Air Force Auxiliary
-In this organization I am a cadet Master Sergeant (almost a cadet officer)
In this I am in
-the color guard (for parades and ceremonies/ team won 2nd at state region competition and I won the highest written test in the region of the state)
-honor guard (all that fun rifel stuff with turns, twists, and throwing like cadet kelly on the disney channel- yeah you know what I'm talking about- Did performance at the state conference)
-On the Cadet Advisory Council for Southeastern region of New York (I get to represent my squadron and vote-like a congress)
-Been in countless parades, conducted many ceremonies, went to the prison to donate toys for the inmates’ children, and many other community service activities. Well over 200 hrs of community service.

Also in CAP I attended and encampment in New Jersey (where I pretend I am really in the military) during my freshman to sophomore summer.

The next Summer I went to the Cadet Leadership Academy in Maryland where I was taught leadership theory, and I had to present several speeches, give a lecture, and write many essays.

I devote a lot of time to CAP and I plan to become a Cadet Lieutenant soon.

This summer I am serving on the encampment staff (where I'm in charge of cadets-teaching, yelling, whatnot).

I am also going to intern for my congresswomen or intern at the state department in Washington.

I want to be in Air Force ROTC. Does that help me in any way with college admissions?

Also this past February I went to Presidential Classroom Scholars Program (which is what made me want to go to Georgetown) I wrote a paper for this and will receive a one hour credit from UVA.

My AP Spanish class also receives credit from UAlbany- 3hours each year

So if you could tell me what you think it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Can I get into Georgetown or are they going to laugh at my application, shred it, burn it and throw the rest off the 14th street bridge in to the Potomac River?

Be brutal, kind, or whatever you please, but please be honest. Thanks
Do I stand a chance at? They are in order.

Thanks for your help and will be more than happy with suggestions.

A great shot everywhere, but uva and unc will be the toughest becuase ur oos

"I am in VASSA (Varsity Athletes Against Substance Abuse)"

Wouldn't that be VAASA? Haha, just kidding.

Your SAT scores (if not improved) will really hurt you at your reach schools

bump bump bump

I don't know about those top schools.
You will really need to bump up your SAT scores or else the admission officers will never even look at your application.
Also, get some more awards in some competitions. Then you will be fine.

WESTPOInt!! Free education + allowance + a guaranteed job at the end!!! Check it out!

Honestly, I don't really think you have a chance at any of the schools except for GW, Maryland, and American unless you can bump up those SAT scores to a 2100+. I recommend doing a lot of prep this summer.

Your extracurriculars are pretty impressive. Your school work is very decent, though not exemplary. But I agree, you need at least a 2100 for your SATs to match your other areas of strength. But you have a very good shot at all of those schools except for Cornell, Johns Hopkins, University of Chicago, and Wash U. Those schools require a high SAT score. However, your other areas are up to par.

i can't believe schools give letter grades for band. and call it honors band.

in all honesty, unless it is a music course that requires theory and solfege and eurythmics, it should not be given more than pass/fail.

you seem to be a very hard worker. i think your best top school shot is georgetown because of your average and ec's. i wouldn't count on anywhere above that because of your scores...good luck!

"I want to be in Air Force ROTC. Does that help me in any way with college admissions?"

For admissions, no. As a scholarship, yes, it could. (<a href="http://www.afrotc.com%5B/url%5D">www.afrotc.com</a>)</p>

unfortunately, ur chances at northwestern/jhu/gtown/chicago/wash u are like very smallll. Your SAT is like below the 25th percentile at these places.

TAKE THE ACT. You got nothing to lose. Some kids just do better on that test. You have a shot at the schools, but a higher SAT or ACT score would be helpful.
