Match me! Where can I get in??!!!!!

I am a junior at an extremely competitive public high school in very competitive Westchester County NY. (Yes, I live among the Clintons)

My current GPA is 4.0 (A+) and my weighted GPA is 4.2, and I am in the top10% of my class

I have received an A in every class except Bio (I never want to see that subject again- I received a B+)

I am in 3 AP'S
-Spanish Lang. A
-APUSH A+
-Microeconomics A+ (Expect 5's in both APUSH and Micro

Also I am in
-Honors English A
-Honors Chem. A
-Honors Band A+ (trombone-7 years of playing)

The thing that hurts me is that I am not in Pre calc, but I have an A+ in Math.

Here is where I'm scared my SAT from April was 1920 CR:660 W:640 it gets worse M:620
OMG!!!!!!!!!
I have been working my butt off and my practice math is 710 CR:700 and W:690 a composite of 2100
(It is very weird that I did so terribly on math when it was my best section before the April test)

I have 1 SAT II: Bio 690
and I plan to take SAT II's in Math1 and US History (Did very well on practice tests as in US:740 Math:710)

I am taking 3 AP’s next year
-AP US Gov & Pol
-AP English
-AP Spanish (two year course so I guess it counts only as one)

I don't know if this helps but on every NY State regents I have received a 95 or higher. (There is a regents for every subject in NYS)

Sports:
I am on the varsity football team and I played high school football all three years (Guard)
I also been on the varsity swim team all three years of high school (all strokes)

EC’S:
-I am a delegate at my schools Model United Nations and I am going to the national conference in May
-I am in VASSA (Varsity Athletes Against Substance Abuse) and I have gone to the middle school several times to be a positive influence and preach against drugs and alcohol
-I am an active member of my church (Youth Group, mow lawn of church, clean church, etc.)
-NHS Member and I am the elected treasurer
-My most important EC is Civil Air Patrol (CAP) the Official United States Air Force Auxiliary
-In this organization I am a cadet Master Sergeant (almost a cadet officer)
In this I am in
-the color guard (for parades and ceremonies/ team won 2nd at state region competition and I won the highest written test in the region of the state)
-honor guard (all that fun rifel stuff with turns, twists, and throwing like cadet kelly on the disney channel- yeah you know what I'm talking about- Did performance at the state conference)
-On the Cadet Advisory Council for Southeastern region of New York (I get to represent my squadron and vote-like a congress)
-Been in countless parades, conducted many ceremonies, went to the prison to donate toys for the inmates’ children, and many other community service activities. Well over 200 hrs of community service.

Also in CAP I attended and encampment in New Jersey (where I pretend I am really in the military) during my freshman to sophomore summer.

The next Summer I went to the Cadet Leadership Academy in Maryland where I was taught leadership theory, and I had to present several speeches, give a lecture, and write many essays.

I devote a lot of time to CAP and I plan to become a Cadet Lieutenant soon.

This summer I am serving on the encampment staff (where I'm in charge of cadets-teaching, yelling, whatnot).

I am also going to intern for my congresswomen or intern at the state department in Washington.

I want to be in Air Force ROTC. Does that help me in any way with college admissions?

Also this past February I went to Presidential Classroom Scholars Program (which is what made me want to go to Georgetown) I wrote a paper for this and will receive a one hour credit from UVA.

My AP Spanish class also receives credit from UAlbany- 3hours each year

So if you could tell me what you think it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Can I get into Georgetown or are they going to laugh at my application, shred it, burn it and throw the rest off the 14th street bridge in to the Potomac River?

Be brutal, kind, or whatever you please, but please be honest. Thanks
Do I stand a chance at? They are in order.

Thanks for your help and will be more than happy with suggestions.

You have a great GPA, and colleges love varsity sports. You will have little or no chance in UVA (oos), Cornell, JHU, Northwestern, UNC (oos) Chicago, or WUSTL with a 1900 SATs. A 2100 is much better, but aim for 2200+ to be safe. If your school offers more than six APs, you're in trouble.

Dependant upon you getting around a 2100.

Why do you say I can get into Gtown?

bump bump bump

I think you are in everywhere except maybe Cornell.

Georgetown - reach
UVA - reach
Cornell - reach
Emory - slight reach or match
Vanderbilt - slight reach or match
Johns Hopkins - reach
Northwestern - reach
UNC-Chapel Hill - slight reach
University of Chicago - reach
Washington-STL - reach
George Washington - safe match
University of Maryland CP - safety
American - safe match

HarlemNY "I think you are in everywhere except maybe Cornell."

WRONG. with a 1900 or whatever your SAT score is you dont have a very much of a chance. American and Maryland are your only good bets.

Chicago doesn't look at numbers that much as other schools so I would ay yes!

they may not look at them as much but 1900 doesnt cut it

University of Maryland CP - safety
American - safe match

ummm UMD is MUCH better then American. I have no chance at UMD, but i could get into American.

just a question- what do you mean if her school offers more than 6 APs shes in trouble? i've only taken 3 APs over the course of my entire high school career (i'm graduation)- AP Spanish, AP English Lit & AP Statistics. My school offers every year AP US History, AP English Lit, AP Statistics & AP Calc. This year we have AP Bio & AP Physics bc people wanted it but if people don't sign up we don't get the courses (very small school). just curious what you meant.

An awful lot of it depends on the reputation of your high school.

You'll get into GW too (in addition to UMD and America)...even with that 1900 SAT. Everywhere else is a reach.

Does the school rank? There's a big difference between 2/300 & 29/300. At my school, that GPA would be top 3%.

Assuming you could get the SAT to ~2100, I would say:
Georgetown - in the running
UVA - in the running
Cornell - unlikely
Emory - probable
Vanderbilt - probable
Johns Hopkins - probably not
Northwestern - in the running
UNC-Chapel Hill - most likely
University of Chicago - in the running
Washington-STL - maybe
George Washington - safe
University of Maryland CP - safety
American - safe

Washington-STL - reach
University of Chicago - reach
UNC-Chapel Hill - reach(since you live in ny)
Georgetown - reach
UVA - reach
Cornell - reach
Northwestern - reach
Emory -match
Vanderbilt - match
Johns Hopkins - match
George Washington - safe match
University of Maryland CP - safety
American - safe match

If your school offers 10 APs and you only took 6, than top colleges will think that you are not challenging yourself. 6 APs is a lot, but colleges (especially top 25) want students to be as challeged as possible to prepare for college

1900 is not terrible for college, especially if you have other (unique) things going for you....like sports, community service, leadership positions, and politics ("I am also going to intern for my congresswomen or intern at the state department in Washington"). If you can secure stuff like that, it'll really help. People even get into HYPSM with 1900s (although the higher you can go, the better), so I don't think you're disqualified simply because of your SAT score. UChicago probably cares the least out of all those schools about SAT; they place much more emphasis on their essays which are....very "uncommon." :)

I agree; a lot depends on the rep of your hs. What is the record of your hs, especially in terms of these schools? What are the stats of the seniors that got into those colleges this year from your hs?

And I think where HomerSimpson is going is how have you challenged urself academically? Have you taken the hardest courseload at your school?

And have you thought of being recruited?

Colleges do want to see that you have taken the toughest classes that you are able. Having said that, many schools restrict the number of AP's they allow students to take, or they require students to take 4 years of PE, or tech electives. Each school will tell the adcoms what the requirements are to take AP's and also the norm for their school. Even if a school offers 20 AP's, that does not mean that students have the ability to take 3 or 4 a year.
